Department Summary The Modeling and Simulation Computing Department (MSCD) is a corporate leader in the design and implementation of modern modeling and simulation workflows that support decision making across the National space enterprise. As an organization with national reach, MSCD works alongside subject matter experts in various disciplines to develop unique-in-the-world capabilities for space modeling and simulation. This critical organization brings our modeling and simulation capabilities into reality to inform some of our nation's most critical decisions across multiple domains. What You'll Be Doing Guide the development and deployment of new and existing modeling and simulation software capabilities across multiple security environments Influence the development and application of corporate standards and best practices in modeling and simulation Assemble strong, diverse project teams to maintain and innovate on nationally-recognized space modeling and simulation capabilities Innovate new modeling and simulation products and workflows in close coordination with subject matter experts Build a talented national organization through recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding new staff Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment Develop staff through performance management, evaluation, coaching, and mentoring Obtain, manage, and tailor work assignments to staff skillsets Ensure the technical quality of staff work products Acquire resources necessary for the success of the staff Manage overall capabilities of the department, paying attention to health/status and necessary advancements to support customers Interface with program office and government customers, other corporate support organizations, as well as other ETG departments Execute business administration functions (e.g., budget, resource allocation) Position is for El Segundo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA; however, other locations will be considered for candidates able to demonstrate their ability to satisfy the requirements of the role. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience or Master's degree in one of the following:
computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field of science, engineering, or mathematics from an accredited institution Experience successfully managing and growing a portfolio of diverse, integrated software projects Significant, diverse experience in technical management and leadership for software projects that apply modern standards and processes Significant experience in identifying, prioritizing, and resolving technical and/or personnel issues Experience with staff development and mentoring Ability to flex communication styles for productive interactions with staff, collaborators, and customers Current, active TS/SCI clearance How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Relevant experience in other organizations which deliver modeling and simulation products to Aerospace customers Deep understanding of Aerospace customer needs for modeling and simulation products Experience navigating collaborations between software developers and subject matter experts across multiple disciplines Direct experience with and understanding of Aerospace customers and business Knowledge and understanding of corporate policies, practices, and organizational structure Prior experience working in an engineering matrix that supports program offices Grade-Based Pay Range (Min - Mid - Max) $139,050 - $228,199 - $317,349 Ways We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide details of our industry-leading benefits. $100K -- $150K
