Job Duties: Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools, and utilities. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. Program in C/C+
to develop high availability redundant server processes that generate. Program Guide and Conditional Access streams for broadcast. Lead setting up and maintaining server clusters in a Linux (Red Hat Enterprise) environment. Design and develop Web 2.0 applications to meet engineering business requirements on J2EE platforms utilizing XML. Develop architectures based on new business requirement for head-end and set-top-box systems. Use best practices in software systems architecture, middleware technologies and loosely coupled distributed computing systems. Maintain documentation for business systems and processes. May lead projects and/or a team in software engineering processes. The position does not have people management responsibilities, but it does required working closely with the following occupations of the team members: software architects, lead developers, and junior developers.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in software engineering related occupation. Experience must include: 1. five years of experience developing large-scale software applications using Java technologies; 2. C++; 3. J2EE; 4. EJB3; 5. RMI; 6. JMS; 7. Web Services; 8. SOAP, WDSL, REST, XML, or JSON; 9. PL or SQK; 10. JPA or Hibernate JMS; 11. Log4j; 12. database design and optimization; 13. configuration management and revision utilizing CVS.
