The Sr. Windows System Administrator will work in the Data Center Operations (DCO) group and reports to the Manager of IT. This role requires 24X7 on-call rotation with some night and weekend work. The ideal candidate should be familiar with managing several hundred production servers in an enterprise ecommerce environment and be familiar with load balancers, Data center infrastructure (cooling/power) and working with vendors for support etc. in a heterogeneous environment (Windows / Linux).

Responsibilities:

Participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1 week per month) as well as some after hour evening and/or weekend work
Respond to and troubleshoot all production alerts/emergencies including issues relating to Windows, IIS, Linux, power, cooling, SAN and more
Architecting solutions using Windows server/services
Manage Windows servers leveraging central management software
Deploy code updates to applications servers
Implement best practices for new and existing solutions

Requirements:

BA/BS in CS, EE, CIS, MIS or Mathematics from a 4 year university or equivalent experience
4 - 5 years of Windows system administration and engineering experience supporting a production environment
Must have work experience in a fast paced, high transaction ecommerce production environment
Well developed and demonstrable understanding of Computer Science principles, basic networking concepts; OSI network layers, TCP/IP, routers, switches, systems and servers such as DHCP, DNS and understanding of system and network security
Well versed in Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 administration tasks, such as installation, configuration, management, lock down, security, patching and updating
Experience with Active Directory (Domain trust, site and services, group policy), IIS, DNS and other Microsoft solutions
Knowledge and experience of RAID, NTFS and Share Permissions
Know how with troubleshooting and root cause analysis in a complex and distributed environment
Ability to write scripts using VBScript or PowerShell
Experience with Sysprep and Virtualization is a plus
Some working knowledge of Linux is preferred
Must be capable of demonstrating an understanding of general protocols/principals standards beyond just how they are implemented in the Windows environment
Highly analytical and adept at troubleshooting and performing root causes analysis with capability of demonstrating these attributes
24X7 on call rotation
