INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE)

Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of lT application software design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining applications software that support functional requirements. Knowledge of software programming logic, design, programming languages sufficient to analyze hardware and software requirements of assigned projects and to develop new or modified applications software programs. Knowledge of methods, techniques, and processes for the integration and optimization of system components, infrastructure requirements, database management features, and test and evaluation methods sufficient to design, code, test, and debug large and complex programs and provide technical guidance to others in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs. Knowledge of a wide variety of established commercial applications software programs and how they interrelate and function within various environments. Knowledge of IT applications software concepts, principles, methods and practices sufficient to plan and carry out difficult assignments, develop new methods, approaches, and procedures, and to provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of issues. Skill in applying IT software development concepts and techniques to provide applications, which provide optimal functional support for users. Ability to analyze functional IT system requirements, translate findings into functional requirements, develop supportable recommendations for enhancement, apply a wide range of methodologies and tools, and to design, write, code, debug, test, and maintain applications. Ability to prepare systems documentation to include functional descriptions, maintenance manuals, test and implementation plans, cost analysis, specification documents, feasibility studies, and user guidance. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. In-depth knowledge of software design principles methods and approaches. 2. Knowledge of complex systems software and systems development life cycles, including systems documentation, design development, configuration management cost analysis, systems integration, and testing. 3. In-depth knowledge of lT applications software concepts, principles, methods and practices. 4. Knowledge of the basics of software programming languages such as COBOL, VISUAL BASIC, C, C++, Ada, JAVA, FORTRAN and PASCAL. 5. Ability to analyze organizational application software requirements, develop supportable recommendations for enhancement, apply CASE tools, and design, write, code, debug, test and maintain applications. 6. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
