MORTUARY AFFAIRS COORDINATOR

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, for GS-0301, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of mortuary principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to the full range of mortuary responsibilities on a military installation and the relationship of these responsibilities to local emergency response agencies, along with the county coroner's office; knowledge of state and country laws and regulations in regards to search and recovery procedures and installation response roles and responsibilities; knowledge and skill in applying and evaluating methods and techniques for search and recovery operations, and base honor guard functions; ability to communicate orally and by written means in orders to provide briefings, debriefings, training, and prepare correspondence. OR EDUCATION:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and experience in principles and practices of mortuary affairs, current death programs, search and recovery, and honor guard policies and program management. 2. Skill in evaluating program effectiveness, independent development of comprehensive plans, and ability to analyze processes for improvement. 3. Ability to independently plan, coordinate and guide the work of others while managing travel, lodging, memorial and funeral services in compliance with regulations, the wishes of PADD, chaplains, Honor Guard, funeral home, commanders and outside agencies. 4. Knowledge of mortuary principles and practices or progressively responsible experience in two or more functions managed by a mortuary technicians. 5. Knowledge of information, physical, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to participate in the planning and implementation of security programs in these areas. 6. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. 7. Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations for using Government Purchase Card (GPC) and formulating and executing an Appropriated Funds Budget. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
